Generalized Engset Formulae for Queueing Systems with Limited Buffer Space

چکیده
We analyze closed Engset service systems with requests having some random space requirement (volume) under assumption that service time of the request depends on its volume. We also assume that each customer (or source of requests) is characterized by his own join distribution of the request volume and service time, and the total requests volume is limited. For such systems we determine the stationary distribution of states of the sources.

On Two-Echelon Multi-Server Queue with Balking and Limited Intermediate Buffer
In this paper we study two echelon multi-server tandom queueing systems where customers arrive according to a poisson process with two different rates. The service rates at both echelons are independent of each other. The service times of customers is assumed to be completed in two stages. The service times at each stage are exponentially distributed. At the first stage, the customers may balk ...
متن کاملGeneralized Loss Models and Queueing-Loss Networks
The classical Erlang and Engset loss models have been used extensively in the traffic engineering of traditional telephone exchanges. More recently, these models have been generalized to the so-called loss networks, which provide models for resource sharing in multiservice telecommunication networks. In this paper, we introduce a new generalized class of models, queueing-loss networks, which ca...
متن کاملApplications of Queueing Theory to Circuit Switched Networks Figure 1:ctmc for an M/m/m/m System
In this lesson, we learn about models used for circuit-switched networks. We start with an M/M/m/ m model, also called the m-server loss system [1]. We note here that [2], page 379 states that a system with a finite customer population will always be stable, no matter what value of. This statement is made for any finite state space MC. Does this explain why in M/M/m/m model we often talk about ...
متن کاملA note on large-buffer asymptotics for generalized processor sharing with Gaussian inputs
In a previous study logarithmic large-buffer asymptotics were derived for a two-class generalized processor sharing system with Gaussian inputs, for three of the four possible scenarios. In this note we show how the large-buffer asymptotics for the remaining fourth regime follow from a recently derived result for tandem systems. We also provide a heuristic interpretation of the result. 2000 Mat...
متن کاملA Fluid Limit for the Engset Model - An Application to Retrial Queues
We represent the classical Engset-loss model by the stochastic process counting the number of customers in the system. A fluid limit for this process is established for all the possible values of the various parameters of the system, as the number of servers tends to infinity along with the number of sources. Our results are derived through a semi-martingale decomposition method. A numerical ap...
